Privacy policy.

Avenel is a web design studio in Toronto, Canada. We are responsible for the personal information collected through avenel.agency, and we handle it under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

• When you ask for a quote. Your name, email address and business name, your phone number if you give it, the options you pick (type of business, which build, whether you want ongoing care) and anything you write in the message box.
• When you book a call. Booking happens on Cal.com. You give them your name, email and a time, and they pass the booking to us.
• When you browse. Vercel Web Analytics counts page visits and a few actions, such as clicking to book a call or sending the quote form. It uses no cookies and does not identify you. Our host, Vercel, also handles technical details such as your IP address and browser type to serve the site and keep it secure.

Please do not send payment details, health information or ID numbers through this site. We never need them at this stage.

To reply to you, prepare your written quote, arrange and hold calls, and, if you hire us, build and look after your website. Analytics show us which pages are useful so we can improve them. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising or add you to a mailing list.

Only the services that run this site and our work, and only so they can do that job:

• Formspree, which delivers quote form messages to us
• Cal.com, which handles call bookings
• Vercel, which hosts the site and runs its analytics
• Our email and calendar providers, for our replies and meetings

These services store data outside Canada, mainly in the United States, where it is subject to local law, including lawful requests from authorities there. We would also disclose information if Canadian law required it.

This site sets no cookies for tracking or advertising. Cal.com uses its own cookies once you open it to book a call; its privacy policy covers those.

Only as long as we need it to reply, quote and work with you, plus any business and tax records the law requires us to keep. After that we delete it. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent and ask us to delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it. We reply within 30 days.

To ask, reply to any email we have sent you, or send a message through the quote form and mention privacy. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Everything on this site travels over an encrypted connection. Only the people at Avenel who need your details can see them, and the services above protect the data they hold for us.

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
